Физическая форма и здоровье

Мы – это часть мира, который поклоняется худобе и считает, что быть тощим лучше, чем полным. Нас бомбардируют изображениями худых как соломинка моделей, чьи тела больше напоминают тела мальчиков в препубертантном периоде, нежели тела женщин. Тех немногих, которые по природе очень худы, я не критикую. Но остальным, тем, кто морит себя голодом и принимает наркотики типа спида или кокаина, чтобы держать аппетит под контролем (точнее, чтобы аппетита вообще не было), я не только сочувствую – мне противно.
Противно от имени всех молодых девушек, которые смотрят на этих костлявых женщин как на идолов. От имени молодых девушек, которые медленно приканчивают себя, сгорают на глазах у семьи из-за стремления к бредовому, вредному и убийственному стандарту. Я злюсь от имени всех женщин, которых цепляют на крючок одной и той же ложью: если ты не тростинка, ты недостойна любви и успеха.
Главная Ложь: быть тростинкой – привлекательно. Когда будете пролистывать журнал, полный недокормленных моделей, не завидуйте. Да, легко сказать, тяжело сделать. Но нам всем промывают мозги, и это очевидно. Вы подумайте: чего такого прекрасного есть в нелепом восхищении мира, когда вы одной ногой в могиле или стоите у ее края? Не поймите меня неправильно – моделям тоже промывают мозги, как и нам, и им очень не повезло попасться в ловушку мира чрезмерных требований (помните, как пользовался успехом героиновый взгляд? Какой ужасный пример того, что можно вдолбить нам в голову!) И многие из них костьми лягут, лишь бы только стать знаменитыми – и неважно, голод ли, наркота ли. Так чему тут завидовать? Чему восхищаться?Целых три правила, ведущих к успокоению и гармонии.Лекарство: при помощи танца живота учитесь ценить красоту собственного тела и восхищаться ею. Все наши тела прекрасны, так не позволяйте этим дрянным журналам и модным дизайнерам убеждать вас в чем-то другом.
От себя добавлю: полностью согласна с автором статьи. Танец живота избавил меня от паранойи под названием "Где же весы? Мне надо проверить, сколько я набрала за последний вечер!". Я стала чувствовать себя очень комфортно и женственно.
